NORDLUX SIDARA

A new expression built on a shared foundation

CLIENT NORDLUX

TYPE PRODUCT

Following the industry defining success of the Aludra collaboration, Sidara continues this partnership with a new expression, evolving outdoor lighting from a functional necessity into a considered architectural and atmospheric choice.

ORIGIN

Sidara begins from the same ambition as Aludra. Attractive from a distance, elegant in its details, and defined by a surprising play of light. From this familiar starting point, a distinctly different concept emerges. Where Aludra is vertical and directional, Sidara is horizontal, fluid and architectural in a quieter way.

DIRECTIONAL BY DESIGN

The basic form of Sidara is a soft, rounded square. This squircle introduces direction without sharpness, giving the lamp a subtle horizontal orientation that guides movement and defines any space.
The form is calm, balanced and intentional. A satin finished edge crowns the lamp, refining the top surface and visually anchoring the entire design.

A DIFFUSED WARM GLOW

In contrast to the more vertically focused light of Aludra, Sidara offers a warmer and more welcoming expression. A continuous ring of perforations distributes light evenly, while a cylindrical inner diffuser behind the shell creates a layered play of light, where intensity shifts gently across the surface, adding depth and quiet movement.

"The entire Sidara design is rooted in confidence and longevity.”

QUALITY AND RELIABILITY

Sidara is designed to feel robust and trustworthy, not only through its calm and time resistant design language, but also through durable materials and surfaces.

The seaside coating ensures resilience in demanding environments and reinforces the lamp’s suitability for long term outdoor use.

Nordlux Aludra designed by Jacob Jensen Design is an outdoor series of lamps inspired by the looks of indoor lighting.
SHARED COMPONENTS, DISTINCT IDENTITY

A key ambition during development was to reuse components from the Aludra series without compromising Sidara’s distinct identity.

Shared parts contribute to improved functionality and easier installation, while also reducing the need for new tooling.
It is a thoughtful approach that benefits production efficiency, sustainability and consistency across the range.
